Director of Social Services, Masters in Social Work, LMSW, LCSW required
Position is responsible for ensuring the Social Service Department provides the highest quality of service to the children and families of the Vogel Alcove. Directs and manages daily department operations, planning and procedures including clinical, program, strategic and related agency wide responsibilities. Assures the department is an ethical and professional team that works closely with the Childcare Department staff, leadership, administration, on site services, consultants, contract employees and other professionals to carry out the mission of the Alcove. Other requirements: clinical experience documented; minimum 5 years experience working with an organization and staff to provide supervision, program planning, management, evaluation, clinical support, training and leadership.
Social Worker II
The position is responsible for participating in the implementation of the mission of the Vogel Alcove. Specifically, the position functions as a member of the social work team. The position works in collaboration with childcare and other agency programs benefiting homeless children and families served by the organization. Provides play therapy, adult therapy, counseling or group therapy as assigned by supervisor. Prepares and insures that clinical records, progress notes and other appropriate documentation is recorded in a timely manner after each therapy session and is kept current. Identify community resources and represent, liaison and communicate within the department and agency. Provides classroom assistance to teachers as needed. Participate in planning and delivering parent training. Prepares social services article for Vogel Alcove Parent Monthly Newsletter as requested. Qualifications: Master of Social Work degree with LCSW, and a minimum of two years of supervised work experience in direct services in the areas of mental health, public welfare, child welfare or other related human service is preferred. Experience working with children, families and groups is also preferred. Operates with high degree of professionalism and personal ethics. Ability to be non-judgmental, demonstrates cultural competence and values diversity. Spanish bilingual is a plus. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Part-Time Administrative Assistant
Seeking candidates with a minimum of a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience. Must have a minimum of five years experience working in a general office, including office management and secretarial duties. Computer knowledge, specifically Microsoft Office, including Excel, is required. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with a diverse public (including young children) is essential. Must present a professional image at all times and have the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines. Spanish bilingual skills are a plus. Salaries are commensurate with education and experience. Full-Time Assistant Teacher/ Floater
Part-time Assistant Teacher/ Floater (12 – 6 p.m.)
Seeking candidates that enjoy working with young children. BA-level candidates with degree in Early Childhood is highly desired. CDA is required. Spanish bilingual skills are a plus. Floaters will be assigned to specific age groups, but must be flexible to meet the needs of the center. Floaters will support teachers with activities that promote healthy social, emotional, cognitive and physical development of children ages six weeks to five years.
