"The Vogel Alcove pierced our hearts and blessed our souls"
On Saturday, November 7th, TDIndustries employees gave their time, skills and support to the Vogel Alcove. They undertook projects, tasks and repairs that could have otherwise cost the Alcove thousands of dollars.
How It Happened
Vogel Alcove director of operations, Marilyn Small, contacted TDIndustries to inquire about a price quote for some critical building repairs. She spoke with Ric Diaz, account manager for TDIndustries – North Texas Service, who agreed to come visit with Marilyn and tour the center.
“I had one of the most earth shattering moments of my life when I toured the Alcove,” said Mr. Diaz. “My life changed at that moment. It was pivotal. I had to stop I got so emotional.”
Mr. Diaz was so moved by his experience touring the center and meeting the homeless children in the Alcove’s care, that he gathered up a group of TDIndustries employees to go on a second tour. This led to TDIndustries adopting the Alcove for long-time community service project support.
“I tell every single client and person I know who does community outreach about the Alcove,” continues Mr. Diaz. “My kids are no different from your kids. I love you guys. I wish I had a million bucks to give you.” |

Vogel Alcove Board member, David Cunningham of Granite Properties, was thrilled to learn from his longtime friend, Harold MacDowell, President of TDMechanical, a division of TDIndustries, that the company, at the urging of Mr. Diaz, had chosen to adopt the Vogel Alcove as one of their core missions of local service.

Some Amazing Work
On a bright Fall morning, a large group of TDIndustries employees gave up their Saturday to work on numerous building repairs that the Alcove so desperately needed. Some of the projects included plumbing installation and repair, electrical and A/C service, carpentry, painting, kitchen refrigeration, landscaping, assembling and installing cabinets, and so much more.
TDIndustries’ philanthropic commitment to the Vogel Alcove extends beyond this one day of hard work. They plan to return to do more! Thank you TDIndustries for adopting the Vogel Alcove as a long-time community service project. We are tremendously grateful for your generosity. |
