Happy New Year!

We hope you had a great time during your holiday season and that you’re off to a great start in the New Year. We truly appreciate everyone who donated new items for our families during this holiday season. Please take a look at the attached photos to gain a glimpse of what the holidays looked like at Vogel.

From December 14th – 16th, Vogel held its Annual Holiday Store. This opportunity allowed our parents to shop through and hand-select items for their children to have for the holiday season. It is extremely important for our families to have this as an option as they can feel the satisfaction of actually choosing what their family receives, as opposed to gifts just being handed to them. As you can imagine, purchasing gifts for one child is a challenge enough, however, when you’re experiencing homelessness, with 2 or more children under the age of 5, the burden can become much more difficult. With this in mind, Vogel hosts this Holiday Store for the families that undergo this misfortune. This may be the only time that our parents can choose what they want for their families without having to worry about a price tag.

While the children enjoyed a normal day in their classrooms, their parents received a 60 gallon trash bag and shopped through a wide selection of new kid toys, clothes, hygiene items, winter wear, blankets, and other holiday essentials—all at no cost to them. Thanks to the generous support of our community donors and corporate partners, we were able to supply holiday gifts to over 250 children, and 125 families!

As we know and understand that Homelessness Doesn’t Take a Holiday, we are thankful that some were able to assist us in providing holiday joy to our families. With that, our families received the opportunity to enjoy the holidays just as YOUR family was able to, during the holiday season.

Your financial support is a huge help to the work that our staff commits to on a daily basis. Whether it’s a one-time gift, a small monthly contribution, or even raising funds on your own fundraising; any amount will definitely go a long way, in helping the homeless children of Vogel.
