We offer therapeutic educational programs that are specifically designed to support children (ages six weeks to 12 years) who are experiencing the trauma of homelessness. These programs include Early Childhood Services, School-Age services, Mental Health Services, Health Services & Family Support.

  • Early childhood education utilizing a research-based curriculum focused on whole-child development
  • Developmental screenings and assessments
  • Onsite speech, occupational and physical therapy
  • Enrichment activities including art, music, physical development and outdoor learning gardens
  • After-school care including enrichment activities, sports, homework assistance, tutoring in math and reading and social/emotional skill building.
  • Gap Camp during school holidays (based on DISD calendar)
  • Camp Vogel, a summer day camp
  • Onsite social workers who work alongside classroom teachers
  • Social/emotional specialists providing observations and behavior plans
  • USDA-sponsored food service program providing daily breakfast, lunch & snack
  • Weekly, onsite access to medical care through Parkland Hospital and Head Start of Greater Dallas
  • One-on-one case management for parents
  • Mental health support and referrals
  • Support in navigating the process of securing housing in Dallas
  • Crisis intervention and problem solving
  • Parenting support and training
  • Access to resources like clothes, diapers, shoes and toys

Our target population consists of children and families served by local organizations and governmental entities providing services to families affected by homelessness. When appropriate, these entities refer families to Vogel. See if you qualify.

Vogel is a nonprofit, non-religious 501(c)(3) organization that serves homeless children and families regardless of race, religion or gender.

Vogel receives funding from foundations, corporations, community organizations, government grants, private individual donations and through proceeds from special events such as our annual Arts Performance Event and the Day 1 DFW family fair.
