Southwest Airlines Shares the “Love” with Our Campers

Demonstrating its commitment to local outreach, Southwest Airlines held a massive Field Day for the children attending Camp Vogel, our summer day camp, on June 15. Held at Love Field, the event featured a large, inflatable obstacle course, a water balloon toss, a crafts area, football and baseball toss games, basketball courts, a dance party, a petting zoo and more.

175 Southwest volunteers formed a “tunnel of love” to greet the children upon arrival. This exciting welcome made our children feel special and set the tone for the event. Chik-fil-a provided lunch for everyone, and Southwest Airlines provided gifts for all of the children–drawstring backpacks filled with items such as notebooks, pens, snacks and a Southwest T-shirt.

Along with our counselors, 43 Vogel Alcove campers participated in Southwest Airlines’ Field Day. Three of our children went up on stage and thanked Southwest for giving them an amazing experience that they’ll never forget. Vogel Alcove joins them in thanking Southwest Airlines for their generosity.
