FUNDRAISING

Homelessness affects every aspect of a child’s life, and the staff of Vogel reflects the holistic nature of our services. We have highly-skilled teachers who specialize in trauma-informed care, licensed social workers, behavioral specialists and experienced administrators. Our staff also includes fundraising, marketing, event planning and data management experts. It is only through the combined efforts of these dedicated individuals that Vogel can fulfill our mission of helping children recover from the effects of homelessness.

Development Efforts
Vogel currently serves as many as 200 homeless children each day, at no cost to families. As a nonprofit organization, we have to raise the money to fund our programming. Our Development team engages in fundraising through three major avenues: corporate partnerships, gifts from individuals and grants from foundations.

Corporate Partnerships
Developing strong relationships with corporate partners allows us to increase awareness of our mission and generate donations to support it. These partnerships typically consist of companies serving as sponsors for one of our major annual events, such as the Arts Performance Event or Day 1 Dallas. We also work with companies to create and plan their own fundraisers, with Vogel as the beneficiary.

To learn how your organization can partner with Vogel to create meaningful improvements in homeless children’s lives, please contact Greg Brinkley, Chief Development Officer, at 214-368-8868 or gbrinkley@vogelalcove.org.

Individual Gifts
Every donation given to Vogel truly is a gift. We could not sustain our operations without the generosity of individual donors. These gifts may be one-time, recurring or planned donations of any size.

Gifts may be given in memoriam or honorarium of a loved one, or in support of specific events or programs. Many companies offer programs in which organizations will match employees’ charitable donations up to a certain dollar amount. Check with your HR department to see if your company participates in a charitable gift matching program.

Individuals can also make gifts to Vogel through planned giving – a thoughtful way to support our efforts for years to come. To learn more about planned giving or making individual gifts to Vogel, contact 214-368-8868.

Foundations
Grants from charitable foundations provide the remainder of Vogel’s funding. These grants may apply to specific programs, such as early childhood or school-age services, or they may be applied to any program. To learn more about how charitable foundations help us help homeless children, contact Tiesha Henderson, Director of Grants and Foundation Relationships, at sread@vogelalcove.org or 214-368-8868.
