Restoring Families | Family Support

A child’s well-being is deeply connected to the stability of their family.

A child’s well-being is deeply connected to the stability of their family. When parents are navigating housing insecurity, economic stress, and trauma, it becomes harder to consistently meet their children’s physical, emotional, and developmental needs.

Poverty, instability, and homelessness places extraordinary strain on caregivers. Stress, uncertainty, and limited resources can affect a parent’s ability to stay engaged, present, and supported — not because of lack of care, but because of circumstance.

That’s why Vogel takes a two-generation approach. By addressing the needs of both children and their parents, Vogel helps families build the foundation required for long-term stability. Supporting parents strengthens families — and strong families create the conditions children need to thrive.

Vogel’s licensed, master’s-level social workers partner one-on-one with parents to provide individualized case management, employment and education resources, and connections to community support. Together, families build the tools, confidence, and support systems needed to move from crisis toward self-sufficiency.

Parent Opportunity Center

The Parent Opportunity Center is a computer lab and work area designed to advance our "two generation approach," the strategy of combining parent and child interventions to break the cycle of poverty.

The center serves a resource for parents to use as a resource for career-advancement.

The room is host to peer groups, educational classes, financial literacy classes, and other initiatives. The space has computers where parents can build résumés, apply for jobs, and to improve their computer literacy.
